Place the washed lemon in the freezer. Once frozen, get your grater, & shred the whole lemon (no need to peel it) and sprinkle it on top of your foods, on vegetables, salad, ice cream, soup, cereals, noodles, spaghetti sauce,

Peanut chocolate...

Peanut chocolate
     Hey all!!!...it's been a long long time since i've blogged! and now I come back with a sweet yet simple recipe which just needs 5 minutes for preparation and 2 minutes for cooking, so believe me...7 minutes of ur time gonna deserves it. you can serve it as a mid-meal snacks / evening snack / during movie time.


Cooking dark chocolate slab - 1/2 slab.
Skinless salted peanuts - 100 grams.
Butter - 2 tblspn.
Corn starch - 1 tsp ( gives the silky texture but i forget to add in).(optional)
butter paper / parchment paper - as needed.


=> dice finely/ shred the choco slab.
=> melt it along with butter and corn starch in the microwave on high for 20 -30 sec till it melts completely.
=> remove and stir well for a minute.
=> mix in peanuts n stir in once.
=> drop a tblsp / a tsp of this mix onto the butter paper / parchment paper.
=> refrigerate it for an hour and its now ready to dig in!..
=> preserve it in a air-tight container kept in refrigerator.

  1.  Just go on and play with any or combination of nuts you like, it can be pistas , cashews, raisins, almonds, cherries, tuti-frutti, marshmallows and even ready-made wafers.
  2. Can use white / semi dark choco slab also / can use white n dark for color combinations.
  3. Can be given a shape using choco molds which is widely available in the market.
  4. For kids, give it a shape n wrap it up with colorful wraps, they'll love it

Indian Doughnut

Indian Doughnut / Kalkandu Vadai
                                This sweet doughnuts are very popular in Chettinad (south India) and it's pleasant-tasting, spongy, fluffy and heavenly taste!!!....vah!... deeeliiiiiiiiciousssssssssssss... wanna taste it! yup! treat urself with these vadai's in just 45 - 60 min's....


Urad dhall / black gram - 1 cup.
Raw rice - 1 tbsp.
Toor dhall / split pigeon peas - 1 tbsp.
kalkandu / sugar candy / sugar - 3/4 cup (powdered).
Elaichi / cardamom - 1/4 tsp (optional). 


  1. Soak urad dhall, raw rice, toor dhall for 45 min and strain.
  2. Blend it without water (can add water drops if needed but preferably avoid using water) since it loosens when sugar is added in step 3.
  3. Add kalkandu(powdered) / sugar powder, cardamom powder (opt) and blend.
  4. Take small portion of batter on a greased plastic, wet hands => tap => make a hole in the center with a finger.
  5. Slide it in hot oil and deep fry on medium heat as usual till golden brown on both sides.


  • Can add 1 cup sugar if  you have a sweet tooth .
  • Raw rice, toor dhal is added to avoid absorption of oil and to add outer crispness .
  • The actual recipe don't call for cardamom but can be used for the hint of flavor.
  • Always wet the hand b4 making each vadas so to prevent sticking.
  • The vadas tend to change in color so fast becoz of sugar so deep frying on medium flame is advisable. 
  • If u feel making doughnut shape is difficult then can go in for ready made vada / doughnut making manual machine which is available in the market. 
  • or can squeeze it out in different shapes(alphabets, geometric shapes, can also do their name)  using a piping bag which will definitely attract kids.
