What is Ajwain?
Ajwain belongs to the same family such as caraway, dil as well as cumin. Here in India it is called bishop’s weed, ova or carom and is popularly used in the foods of the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat in India. It adds flavor to the foods.
Famously known as ‘omam’ in Tamil, ‘ajwain’ in Hindi, carom originates from middle east, later moved to Asia and other continents.
It can help to relieve excess gas from your body and in turn cure problems with your digestive tract. Regular intake of carom powder or seed will help in regulating the digestive system.
Can add these seeds into the dough of the rotis, parathas.
In India ajwain is used to flavor deeply fried foods.

Fight against Cough, Flu Symptoms - By chewing carom seeds with or without betel leaves can help to control dry throat you get while coughing. To get relieved from nasal congestion, you can smell carom seeds by crushing them with your fingers.
N here's a RECIPE using Carom seeds.....
Wheat Flour - 1 cup.
Besan or gram flour - 1/2 cup.
Ajwain or Carom seeds - 1tsp.
Green chilly(crushed)- .
Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp.
Salt - 1/2 tsp.
Yogurt or thick curd - 1/4 cup.
Oil - 2 tsp.
Water - As needed.
=> Sieve gram flour, wheat flour.
=> Now add ajwain or carom seeds, green chilly, salt, turmeric pwd n mix well.
=> Now add curd n mix.
=> Add water n mix well 2 get the soft dough consistency.
=> Add 2 tsp oil n kneed well.
=> Leave it Covered with a damp cloth for 10 minutes.
=> Take a little dough, make a ball shape n dust it with wheat flour.
=> Roll the dusted dough with a rolling pin till till to the desired width.
=> Make parathas on hot tawa till golden brown spots appears.
=> Take it off from tawa n apply little butter on to it for delicacy.
It's done.........can be served as it is or with curd or pickles....
